John Leveque Pirate Festival 2011

Ahoy! Offthetrails paid a second visit to the John Leveque pirate Days in John’s Pass, Madeira Beach, Fl. We book a hotel for the overnight trip through hotwire. This was our third time with Hotwire and we have not been disappointed. The rooms have been clean, comfortable, and at the reduced price, an excellent value. This time we had a rooftop pool and full breakfast buffet, with omelets, grits, fresh fruit, and pastries. The first day of the festival we enjoyed the pub crawl and once again, the Pirate Fight Circle. Nonstop fighting and laughter kept the crowd entertained! There was musical entertainment, shopping, and plenty of places to eat. Pirates were everywhere! On Sunday, we enjoyed the land and sea battle between ships and between pirates and ships. The air resounded with cannon and musket fire. It was exciting, and lots of fun! We hope to return next year.
