Bay Area Renaissance Festival
Welcome to the Bay Area Renaissance Festival in Tampa, Florida! This Renaissance Festival runs for six consecutive weekends during the spring, in a park with permanent buildings. Some of the entertainers include the Village Dancers, the Washing Well Wenches, Empty Hats, Emrys Fleet, jugglers, Johnny Phoenix, Bunnies in Peril, Celtic Mayhem, gypsies, and many more. Special entertainment was the Fantasy Feast and Tea with the Queen. Both are delightful, with fine entertainment and delectable food. The fantasy feast feature many toasts, so be prepared to sip your wine or ale. Queen Catherine Paar is a most gracious and interesting hostess. Further, if you can arrive about 15 minutes early, you can see the Opening Show. This year, King Henry and Queen Catherine and their court arrived unexpectedly, due to a carriage accident. Food courts have all the classic Renaissance foods: soup in a bread bowl, smoked turkey legs, Greek salads, Scotch eggs, gyros, ice cream, strawberry shortcake, and more. Vendors showed their wares of clothing, plants, jewelry, toys, candles, shoes, weapons, artwork, incense, scented oils, and many more - too numerous to list. There are many games to choose from, including Jacobs Ladder, Ax Throw, etc . . . .
Admission price is $19.50 but advance price is $15.00. We recommend the advance ticket if possible, because you can get a discount by buying on line, and print the ticket from your computer. Food prices range from about $4.00 to $8.00 per item. Drinks are from $2.00 for water and soft drinks to $5.00 for beer and wine. Coffee, tea, and other drinks are also available. Game prices are $2.00 per game.
