St. Patrick’s Day at Shindig Irish Pub
St. Patrick’s Day at Shindig Irish Pub!
Slainte! Happy St. Patrick’s Day, or as they say in the Emerald Isle, Patrick Naomh Sásta’s Lá! For Port St. Lucie Irish, or wish to be Irish, the place to be on this day is Shindig Irish Restaurant and Pub. There’s plenty of green in the shirts, hats, hair, or whatever, of the people! The traditional corned beef and cabbage is offered, and of course, beer. There’s music by the Rowdy Micks, Beautiful Disaster, and the Might Quinn. The songs range from traditional American country to traditional Celtic. For the kids, there is face painting and balloon animals. A local soccer charity sells t-shirts to raise money. For the oyster lovers, such as Greg, there is an oyster eating contest. Greg looks forward to that contest all year! We had our friend Anthony with us, but he bowed out of the oyster eating. He did, however, truly enjoy the corned beef dinner. Good fellowship and joy abound. The owners, Andrew and Orla are on hand with a friendly smile and a hello! Parents are there with the babies, and so are the Friendly Sons and Daughters of Ireland, and young professionals. It’s a fun party! Admission before 4 pm is free, and afterwards, it’s $10.
