Gloucester Renaissance Festival
In the pretty, old town of Gloucester, Va, once a year, the Renaissance returns with its music, games, combat martial arts, and crafts. Elegantly garbed ladies and gentlemen stroll the lanes, belly dancers move gracefully, troubadours play and sing, and a blacksmith styles iron. The wall surrounding the original villages adds charms and authenticity to the faire. Across the street, on the green, the fun continues. Allow an hour or so to enjoy the era. Admission is free. While there, stop at the Visitor Center and enjoy the rest of the town!
